Whether you just found out you are expecting, or if you are considering transferring to our practice, we are happy to help you determine if birth at our center works for your family.
Here are a few things to know:
Every Labor of Love client is required to schedule a tour
If you are pursuing care with insurance, we will need to complete a Verification of Benefits - which could take a full business week to gather information from your insurance company
Birth centers are only appropriate for low-risk pregnancies, with families who are seeking low-intervention birth
Our center does not have the ability to offer epidurals, or other IV pain medication
A comprehensive childbirth education class is required for first time parents and parents experiencing their first out-of-hospital birth. A refresher course is suggested for return clients or parents who have already given birth in a birth center
Childbirth education increases the likelihood of having the type of birth you desire. The more familiar you are with coping tools and techniques, the more likely you will be to use them during labor. Classes allow time to practice labor coping techniques to find which are most appealing to you, including helpful movements, positions, breathwork, and mental focusing strategies
If you are transferring into our care after 32 weeks, it is recommended you have a paper-copy of your medical records for this current pregnancy to ease your transition into our care
